Decorating Lessons from London Lockdown

Hi there and I hope you are still keeping safe and well .

Lockdown in London is starting to ease from the perspective of non essential shops, and now barbers and hairdressers are being allowed to open again. However, the chances of us meeting face to face in the office still seem a long way off. Many of my clients are telling me that they do not realistically expect to go back to the office until the end of the year at the earliest. I’ve been really busy mastering the delights of Zoom, Microsoft teams, Webex and Go to Webinar and I’m sure you have been doing the same.

However one thing that remains constant if we are to be successful finance business partners is the need for us to properly engage in an empathetic way with all our key stakeholders. I am still amazed at the number of workshops I’ve been running with large organisations over the last few weeks where a significant minority still have their video turned off and click here for my view on this.

Mrs P has used lockdown to get me to do some decorating and ever curious (like all good finance business partners), I have taken another light hearted look at lessons which we can learn from the situations we currently find ourselves in.

Click and see what I’ve learned this week.

Also thanks for all your comments and feedback and if you have any this week I am sure people would love to hear them.

 Stay safe

 Sean
