Its really important that the focus of the finance business partner is linked to the organisational strategic outcomes and programmes normally link sources of competitive advantage of the business with their business strategy and all other functions.

Behavioural Skills

In order for the business to get buy in and trust to their business partners there are certain behavioural skills that can be learned. This is an area where there is huge scope for change and we adopt many scientifically proven methods from the world of psychology to transform people who despite having a great IQ, did not have very well honed Emotional Intelligence or EQ.

Functional Skills

Many finance business partners normally have well developed financial skills and know their P&L’s and balance sheets inside out. However where we identify this to be not the case we ensure that the finance team is fully up to speed as to what the figures are actually saying in a way that can be understood by all.
